What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Creative Lead position at Rhonda?
You'd own content at Rhonda. LinkedIn posts, blog posts, tweets, and anything else you think will land. The goal is to make Rhonda a voice worth following in the permitting and construction space. We want content that's thoughtful, genuinely useful, and a little fun.
You'd be our first creative hire, and you'd shape the voice with us.
Day to day:
- Write LinkedIn posts that people in construction, architecture, real estate, and infra actually want to read
- Run Rhonda's Twitter/X
- Longer blog posts and essays, sometimes solo and sometimes with outside writers we bring in
- Adapt long-form pieces into social posts
- Find fresh stories, data, and angles in the space
- Talk with customers and the team to find the good material
- Try new formats as they fit
We need to build critical housing, clean energy, transit, and infrastructure projects to create a future of abundance. But today, permitting is slower than it should be, with reviews taking months and endless cycles of corrections. Good projects get delayed, cancelled, or never started.
When more projects make it off the page, we get more homes, cleaner energy, and cities that work for the people who live in them.
Rhonda is an AI-powered plan checking platform that speeds up the permitting process for builders, architects, and developers. Teams upload their plan sets, and the software automatically pulls specific local AHJ requirements to cross-reference against the drawings. In about 45 minutes, it generates a report flagging regulatory issues and inconsistencies. Teams get cleaner submittals before they go to the AHJ, which cuts painful review cycles.
We're early, small, and moving fast.
- Strong writer with a point of view
- Fast and independent; you can turn abstract ideas into finished pieces
- Curious about cities, construction, infrastructure, policy, or anything adjacent
- Probably recently out of college, though not required
- No permitting experience needed. You'll pick it up as you go.
Nice to have:
- Graphic design (Figma, Canva, clean social visuals). We don't have a designer yet, so this is a strong plus.
- Video editing
- Any background in construction, real estate, urban planning, or policy
- $45/hr, 20 to 30 hours per week
- Seattle strongly preferred, open to remote for the right person
- 3-month trial to start, with a real chance of going full-time if it's a good fit on both sides and the budget supports it
Send three things to jobs@rhonda.build
- A short LinkedIn post that Rhonda could publish. Theme: building things in America, why it's slow, and what it could look like if we actually got things done. Don't pitch the product. Aim for something a reader in the industry would want to share.
- A short writeup about something you've made that you're proud of. Any topic, any format, writing or design or otherwise. What you made, why, and what you learned.
- A resume.
We'd love to hear from you!
