Duties
- Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized equipment, to recover and transport vehicles.
- Perform vehicle diagnostics and minor mechanical repairs as needed to prepare vehicles for towing or delivery.
- Secure vehicles properly using cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit.
- Load and unload vehicles with precision, ensuring safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks following safety standards.
- Conduct vehicle recovery towing operations, including roadside assistance for breakdowns or accidents.
- Maintain detailed logs of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and incident reports.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and emergency responders to coordinate timely service delivery.
Skills
- Proven experience with automotive diagnostics, automotive repair, and basic vehicle troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems related to cars and trucks, including automotive mechanics for truck drivers.
- Valid driving license and dot card with experience in driving and flatbed towing.
- Skilled in conflict management to handle customer interactions professionally under stressful situations.
- Familiarity with cargo securement protocols and safe vehicle loading techniques on tow trucks.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles confidently and safely.
- Experience with vehicle recovery towing, vehicle mechanics for truck drivers, forklift operation, and load & unload procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with a proactive attitude toward safety and efficiency.
