We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Handyman to join our facilities team. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical equipment, and building interior components to ensure optimal functionality.
- Conduct repairs using hand tools and power tools, including carpentry, painting, welding, and mechanical work.
- Troubleshoot issues with schematics, electrical wiring, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other technical diagrams to identify root causes.
- Maintain facilities equipment by performing preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on systems such as HVAC units, plumbing systems, electrical panels, and mechanical devices.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and schedule future inspections.
- Supervise or assist with projects involving maintenance painting, carpentry, or other building interior improvements.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants and ensuring their needs are met efficiently.
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role within manufacturing or residential environments.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience; familiar with electrical work, plumbing system maintenance and repair, HVAC system repair, and troubleshooting schematics.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters (for electrical testing), and other maintenance equipment such as schematics for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Ability to perform welding tasks safely and effectively; experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
- Knowledge of CMMS software for managing work orders and maintenance records.
- Excellent communication skills in English; capable of reading technical diagrams and schematics clearly.
- Supervising or leadership experience is desirable for coordinating team efforts on larger projects or ongoing maintenance tasks.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces as needed.
