Maintenance Handyman

Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Handyman to join our facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our building’s interior, mechanical systems, electrical equipment, plumbing, and facilities infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical equipment, and building interior components to ensure optimal functionality.
• Conduct repairs using hand tools and power tools, including carpentry, painting, welding, and mechanical work.
• Troubleshoot issues with schematics, electrical wiring, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and other technical diagrams to identify root causes.
• Maintain facilities equipment by performing preventive maintenance tasks and repairs on systems such as HVAC units, plumbing systems, electrical panels, and mechanical devices.
• Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and schedule future inspections.
• Supervise or assist with projects involving maintenance painting, carpentry, or other building interior improvements.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance requests from staff or tenants and ensuring their needs are met efficiently.

Requirements

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role within manufacturing or residential environments.
• Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience; familiar with electrical work, plumbing system maintenance and repair, HVAC system repair, and troubleshooting schematics.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters (for electrical testing), and other maintenance equipment such as schematics for troubleshooting complex systems.
• Ability to perform welding tasks safely and effectively; experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus.
• Knowledge of CMMS software for managing work orders and maintenance records.
• Excellent communication skills in English; capable of reading technical diagrams and schematics clearly.
• Supervising or leadership experience is desirable for coordinating team efforts on larger projects or ongoing maintenance tasks.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces as needed.
