What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor of Film Production position at Rhode Island College?
Rhode Island College’s Film Studies Program is looking to grow its adjunct pool to staff future courses (Fall 2026 and beyond). We seek part-time instructors to teach upper-level courses in film production (Screenwriting and II, Topics in Film Production, Documentary Film Production, Animation). We welcome applicants across all areas of specialization, but are particularly interested in those who can teach sections of our Topics in Film Production course that focus on cinematography and lighting, as well as sections focused on areas of post-production work.
Essential Duties
- Teach 1 section (4 FLH) of either FILM 270: Screenwriting I, FILM 271: Screenwriting II, FILM 373: Topics in Film Production, FILM 375: Advanced documentary filmmaking, or FILM 377: Animation.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Department Chair.
- College teaching experience, active production history.
Teaching/instruction is performed in a smart classroom setting.
