Job Description:

The Director of Operations is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for executing the Company’s operational strategy across all current and future markets. This role is accountable for revenue realization, margin protection, quality execution, crew performance, and scalable systems. This position is not advisory. It is results‑owned. You are expected to embody, protect, and enforce the Company’s Core Values. All decisions, leadership behaviors, and operational strategies must align with these values.

Responsibilities:

Revenue Growth & Realization:

Accountable For:

  • Growing and maintaining crew capacity sufficient to meet Company revenue targets.
  • Scaling operations to achieve 95% Sales‑to‑Revenue realization.
  • Maintaining an average gross margin of 53% or higher.
  • Identifying and eliminating waste‑driven costs across labor, material, and operational processes.
  • Reducing downtime by optimizing crew utilization and scheduling efficiency.

Additional Revenue & Reputation Management:

  • Maintain a minimum 80% five‑star Google review rate per crew, per market.
  • Build systems that create Raving Fans, including proactive communication and issue resolution.
  • Identify weekly projects suitable for testimonials and coordinate with Marketing to capture them.
  • Ensure proper handling, response, and reporting of fake, false, or bot‑generated reviews.

Profitability & Cost Control:

Quality & Warranty Reduction:

  • Design, implement, and manage proactive crew training programs.
  • Enforce a QA/QC program on every job prior to completion.
  • Codify and enforce SOPs that eliminate recurring operational and PM‑related issues.
  • Ensure hands‑on training for all application processes.
  • Eliminate “gray areas” through structured communication with Sales, Ops, and Clients.

Material & Waste Reduction:

  • Identify and eliminate causes of mistints, overstock, and material waste.
  • Manage the AmCoat refund/credit process monthly.
  • Develop and maintain an HSE Program, including safe driving, compliance, and tracking systems.

KPI Ownership & Data Discipline:

  • Use Builder Prime (or Company‑designated CRM) as the single source of truth.
  • Develop, track, and report KPIs that identify leading indicators of operational issues.
  • Maintain live dashboards for margin, labor %, material %, crew utilization, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead weekly scorecard reviews and corrective action planning.

Operational Strategy & Execution:

  • Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with the 2026 Vision.
  • Lead Project Managers to ensure projects meet quality, timeline, and budget standards.
  • Scale systems and leadership capacity to support multi‑market growth.

Accountable For:

Recruiting, Training & Crew Development:

  • Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retaining elite Rhino Shield crews.
  • Developing structured training programs for Rhino Shield application standards.
  • Establishing crew performance standards that consistently create Raving Fans.
  • Conducting performance reviews, coaching, and corrective action.

Performance Monitoring & Optimization:

  • Track and optimize metrics including GM, labor %, material %, utilization, and reviews.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions.
  • Adjust strategy using data‑driven insights.
  • Scale staff structure in alignment with Company growth objectives.

Quality Control & Customer Experience:

  • Uphold 100% compliance with Company quality standards.
  • Enforce QC checkpoints on every project.
  • Ensure the Company’s communication program is executed consistently.
  • Protect the Rhino Shield Florida brand reputation at all times.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Marketing on testimonials, referrals, and content opportunities.
  • Ensure seamless Sales‑to‑Operations handoff.
  • Collaborate on budgets, forecasts, and profitability reporting.
  • Work with Business Operations to reduce task load through technology and automation.

Technology & Process Optimization:

  • Eliminate outdated or ineffective tools and workflows.
  • Oversee CRM, telephony, and operations enablement platforms.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Budget & Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage Operations budgets across past, current, and future markets.
  • Forecast staffing needs using data and justify resource requests.
  • Scale leadership resources to maximize marketing ROI and execution quality.

Leadership & Culture:

  • Foster a results‑driven, accountable, and positive culture.
  • Mentor managers and supervisors.
  • Set daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly targets aligned with Company goals.
  • Set the standard. Train the standard. Enforce the standard. Daily.

Qualifications:

Professional Experience & Track Record:

  • Scale Experience: Proven experience managing operations for a service-based business doing $15M-$30M in annual revenue. They must have "seen the movie before" regarding the growing pains of scaling from $10M to $25M.
  • Multi-Market Management: Experience overseeing decentralized teams across multiple geographic markets (e.g., Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, etc.) simultaneously.
  • Home Services/Construction Background: Deep understanding of the residential service industry, specifically high-ticket specialty contracting (coatings, roofing, windows, or remodeling).
  • P&L Ownership: Previous experience with full P&L responsibility, specifically managing Gross Margin and Labor/Material percentages.

Technical & Systems Proficiency:

  • CRM Mastery: Advanced proficiency in Builder Prime, Salesforce, or similar construction CRMs. They should be able to build reports, not just read them.
  • Data Literacy: Ability to identify "leading indicators" (e.g., crew capacity vs. sales pipeline) rather than just reacting to "lagging indicators" (e.g., last month's profit).
  • EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) Familiarity: Since your vision mentions scorecards, L10s, and core values, a candidate who has worked in an EOS-run company will hit the ground running.
  • Process Engineering: Experience in SOP codification - the ability to take a "feeling" of how a job should go and turn it into a repeatable, trainable checklist.

Leadership & "Humanity" Skills:

  • Crew Recruitment & Retention: A "black belt" in finding and managing sub-contractors or in-house crews. They need to know how to recruit high-performers in a tight labor market.
  • Conflict Resolution: The ability to handle "escalated issues" with clients to preserve the Raving Fan status without giving away the farm (protecting the margin).
  • Accountability Coaching: Experience holding middle management (Project Managers) accountable to specific daily/weekly targets without micromanaging.

Education & Certifications (Optional But Preferred):

  • Lean Six Sigma / Process Improvement: Certification or training in Lean principles to help with your goal of "identifying and eliminating waste."
  • Bachelor’s Degree: Business Administration, Construction Management, or Engineering is preferred, but 10 years of "in the trenches" leadership in a high-growth company is often more valuable.

The "Rhino Shield" Cultural Fit:

  • The "Owner" Mentality: You need someone who doesn't say "that's not my job" when a review is fake or a material shipment is late.
  • High Communication Tempo: Our vision emphasizes "over-communication." The candidate must be a proactive communicator who eliminates "the grey area."
  • Brand Obsessive: Someone who understands that a logo on a shirt and a clean job site are just as important as the coating itself for creating Raving Fans.

Benefits:

  • Full covered Health / Vision / Dental Plans.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Supportive and collaborative work environment.

Compensation:

  • $200k-$350k OTE (Base Bonus).
