Role Description
Our Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the stability, security, and performance of the organization’s core IT infrastructure. This role works onsite daily from our Greenville, Texas facility and leads day-to-day systems operations, mentors’ staff, and partners closely with leadership to support business continuity, scalability, and ongoing digital improvement. This is a hands-on role for a seasoned professional who values reliability, documentation, and disciplined change management, while still embracing modern tools and cloud-based technologies.
Major Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:
- Leads in design planning for the company’s technology architecture structure; implements hardware and software infrastructure.
- Serves as a technical expert in systems administration and training inner department or across organizations related to Technology.
- Develops and monitors the organization’s technology architecture through multiple locations and plays an important role in the vision and development of the organization’s future technology.
- Ensure infrastructure installations and upgrades are made in accordance with established policies, procedures and software licensing agreements.
- Identifies, implements, and monitors best practices for technology, while providing expert advice on core infrastructure initiatives.
- Supports the day-to-day computer operations as well as the underlying infrastructure of hybrid environment.
- Provides Tier 1 and 2 support in the event of ticket overflow or resource needs including ad-hoc after-hours emergency or maintenance support.
- Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications.
- Identifies methods, solutions, and project guidelines to the team.
- Manage, maintain, and optimize hybrid environment of Windows Servers environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file services
- Administer virtualization platforms such as XCP-NG, XenServer, or Hyper-V
- Oversee Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Entra ID (Azure AD), SharePoint, and endpoint management
- Manage, support and enhance hybrid and cloud infrastructure
- Ensure system availability, performance monitoring, patching, and backup/recovery processes
- Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and problem resolution for complex infrastructure issues
- Implement and maintain security best practices including MFA, access controls, vulnerability remediation, and endpoint protection
- Manage and improve disaster recovery and business continuity plans
- Document systems, configurations, procedures, change history, issues, resolutions, and procedures clearly and consistently
- Mentor and support administrators and help desk staff
- Partner with IT leadership on infrastructure roadmaps, upgrades, and modernization initiatives
- Work with vendors and managed service providers as needed
- Occasional travel to other site locations as related to Technology.
- Contributes to the continual optimization of the RLCorp technology team.
Required Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure engineering in either a manufacturing, industrial or multi-site environment
- Strong expertise in Windows Server, AD/File Share/SQL, Azure and hybrid environments
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration and identity management
- Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies, XenServer, XCP-NG and Citrix Cloud, a plus
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, and routing
- Experience with iPaaS, SaaS platforms including automation, a plus.
- PowerShell scripting and automation experience
- Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems and related – Dynamics GP/Salesforce, a plus.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and ITIL/NIST/CMMC a plus.
- Strong experience with endpoint management tools such as Intune and Jamf
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to problem solving
- Experience supporting security frameworks, audits, or compliance initiatives
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with both internal and external clients.
- Certifications or equivalent practical experience
