Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator specializing in excavator operation to join our dynamic demo team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating excavators and other construction machinery to perform demolition of structures, separating materials, loading dumpsters, rough grading, etc.. on various construction sites. Your expertise will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to small and also large-scale projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety and precision.
Duties
- Operate excavators and related heavy equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with federal construction safety regulations and equipment safety procedures
- Perform demo, loading, excavation, rough grading, with precision to meet project specifications
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of construction machinery, including Caterpillar equipment, to ensure optimal performance and safety
- Assist with construction utility work by locating underground utilities using utility locating techniques before excavation begins
- Follow construction site safety protocols diligently, adhering to all safety regulations to prevent accidents or injuries
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment use and project timelines effectively
- Maintain detailed logs of equipment operation, maintenance activities, and site progress for project records
Skills
- Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy construction machinery in a fast-paced environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and minor repairs on construction equipment
- Excellent understanding of construction site operations, including adherence to safety regulations and proper equipment maintenance practices
