Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and facilitate smooth check-in and Check out processes using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Obtain vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature to assist clinicians with patient assessments.
- Support clinical procedures by preparing examination rooms, assisting with medication administration, and managing specimen collection when necessary.
- Assist with patient intake by gathering medical histories, documenting symptoms accurately, and ensuring all relevant information is entered into the system.
- Maintain accurate documentation of ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for diagnoses and procedures to support billing and record keeping.
- Manage administrative tasks including appointment scheduling, answering patient inquiries, and coordinating referrals or follow-up visits. Prior authorizations.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a healthcare setting such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or emergency departments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding systems to accurately document patient encounters.
- Demonstrated ability to support both clinical and administrative functions within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation and scheduling purposes.
- Strong patient service skills with a friendly demeanor and excellent communication abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
