Hiring Immediately for multiple shifts. Full-time, Part-time, and PRN, 1st shift, 2nd shift, 3rd shift Monday through Friday and Fri/Sat/Sun.
Our agency provides services and supports for adult individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential settings and community settings. The role of Direct Support Professional requires an honest, caring individual with a strong desire to help others. A Direct Support Professional's duties include:
- Providing companionship and care for people supported. This includes fostering positive relationships between caretakers and persons served; encouraging self-help activities while maintaining a safe environment; and working in a team environment to provide the best care.
- Assist with personal hygiene care - bathing, shower, toileting, shaving, brushing teeth, dressing and transfers.
- Planning and preparing meals according to meal plans, as well as assist with feeding if necessary.
- Maintaining a clean environment- Change bed linens, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning kitchen, bathroom and laundry.
- Accompany persons supported to scheduled appointments, shopping, outings, and errands.
- Remind and assist with self-administration of medications once properly trained
- CPR training, Med Cert, and CPI classes are agency paid.
- Documentation of services provided using computer software.
- Ability to handle physical aspects of job duties including assisting with transfers and walking
