What are the responsibilities and job description for the Leader, Interior Architecture, Product Design & Development position at RH?
RH is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Leader with a passion for designing immersive hospitality environments to join our Interior Architecture team. This role leads the design of inspiring and functional restaurant, bar, and lounge interiors, including bespoke architectural elements and products that define RH’s unique hospitality spaces globally. In close partnership with the Creative team, the Leader translates conceptual ideas into precise technical drawings, supporting seamless design development across specialty retail and hospitality installations. The ideal candidate brings a refined design point of view, strong spatial and technical expertise, and a deep understanding of hospitality design—contributing to RH’s elevated design culture through precision, clarity, and strong visual storytelling.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead bespoke FF&E development through close coordination with Product Designers and external vendors
- Translate conceptual direction into precise product designs, drawings and visual materials in partnership with Creative
- Develop detailed product development drawing sets, technical documentation, and 3D modeling that advance design development and align with RH standards
- Partner with Architecture & Design, Construction, Visual Merchandising, Product Development and Hospitality teams to ensure environmental conditions align with furniture & lighting designs and creative intent
- Present drawing sets, strategies, and technical solutions to leadership and executive stakeholders with clarity and precision
- Collaborate with Construction teams to address on-site conditions, resolve design challenges, and maintain design integrity throughout execution
- Integrate operational insights and preservation feedback into future design direction and specialty design initiatives
- Maintain rigorous organization of drawings, documentation, and design standards to support cross-functional workflows
- Stay current on hospitality design trends, materials innovation, and sustainability practices relevant to RH environments. Pitch new concepts & creative ideas
OUR REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Interior Design, or related field
- 5 years of experience in hospitality or F&B design
- 5 years of experience in industrial / interior design or design production coordination
- Mastery of Revit, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Rhino and SketchUp, or related programs
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and project management platforms such as Monday.com
- Strong space-planning expertise and understanding of hospitality program requirements
- Exceptional presentation, communication, and visual storytelling skills
- Strong organizational discipline with the capacity to maintain clear, shareable drawing files and documentation
- Comfort working within iterative design processes and navigating multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Highly detail-oriented with a track record of managing complex, global projects
- Collaborative, hands-on design leader who thrives in interdisciplinary environments
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This role is based in-office Monday–Friday at RH Headquarters in Corte Madera, CA
- Frequent movement and lifting of items up to 10 lbs, using appropriate equipment such as ladders and adhering to safety guidelines
- Domestic and international travel as needed
- Flexibility to support occasional evenings and weekends based on business needs and opening schedules
