Duties

• Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
• Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as administering medications..
• Prepare exam rooms and ensure all necessary supplies are available for outpatient visits or hospital procedures.
• Document clinical notes with precise medical terminology, ICD coding for diagnoses, and detailed descriptions of patient interactions.
• Conduct basic life support (BLS) when needed and assist.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology to support accurate patient assessment and documentation.
• Proficiency with EHR systems for charting, order entry, ICD coding, and medication documentation.
• Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations across inpatient and outpatient environments.
• Competence in handling intake processes for various specialties like internal medicine while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
