Overview
We are seeking 2 compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to one individual in a private home with developmental disabilities, ensuring their well-being and promoting their independence. You will work in a private home setting, collaborating with a team of professionals to create a safe and nurturing environment for our client.
Available Roles:
1 Swing Shift (4:00PM-12:30AM) Tuesday-Saturday — FULL TIME
1 Day Shift (8:00AM-4:30PM) Thursday-Friday -- PART TIME
Please DO NOT APPLY unless interested in at least one of the two the available roles. The part time role is also able to pick up shifts on an on-call basis for additional hours.
Duties
- Assist an adult client with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, toileting procedures, meal preparation, maintaining cleanliness of client's home, and medication management.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance the quality of life for client.
- Monitor client behavior and health status, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Implement individualized care plan tailored to client needs.
- Engage with client in recreational activities and community outings to promote social interaction and skill development.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring the safety of both client and staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Perform CPR and first aid as needed, ensuring the safety of the individual in your care.
- Complete all required and annual trainings in a timely manner.
- Document daily activities & behaviors of client
Experience
- Previous experience working in a DSP, PSW or group home setting is preferred.
- Background in healthcare and/or social work is advantageous but not required.
- Familiarity with assisting individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care is highly valued.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is desirable; training may be provided for qualified candidates.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members are essential.
