Sales Engineer – Automotive Interior Lighting
- We are seeking a customer-focused Sales Engineer with experience in automotive interior lighting, illuminated components, or automotive electronics to support OEM and Tier 1 customer accounts across the North American market.
- This role combines technical expertise with customer engagement, supporting programs from RFQ through product launch while strengthening customer relationships and driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support OEM and Tier 1 customer accounts throughout the sales and program lifecycle
- Serve as the technical point of contact for automotive interior lighting and illuminated component solutions
- Lead technical discussions, presentations, and customer application support activities
- Support RFQ processes including quotation, development, award, and launch coordination
- Collaborate with global engineering, quality, and program teams to communicate customer requirements and drive solutions
- Conduct customer visits for technical reviews, program support, and relationship development
- Prepare technical presentations, reports, and customer documentation
- Support issue resolution and ensure effective communication between customers and internal teams
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and opportunities within automotive lighting and interior systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field preferred)
- 3 years of experience in automotive interiors, ambient lighting, illuminated components, or related automotive electronics
- Strong understanding of automotive product development and RFQ-to-launch processes
- Experience supporting OEM and/or Tier 1 automotive customers preferred
- Excellent communication, presentation, and customer-facing skills
- Experience working with global or overseas teams preferred
- Ability to travel internationally and maintain a valid passport
Preferred Background
- Experience as a Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer, Product Engineer, or Technical Account Manager within automotive suppliers
- Knowledge of ambient lighting systems, LED modules, HMI systems, or illuminated trim products
- Experience supporting customer launches and cross-functional manufacturing coordination
- Existing OEM or Tier 1 customer relationships are a plus
