Engineer / Data Analyst – SAP Data Retrieval, Dashboards, and Reporting (Aerospace)
Role Summary
- This role supports aerospace engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams by extracting and analyzing SAP data to produce accurate dashboards, reports, and performance insights.
- The position blends data engineering skills with an understanding of aerospace production, configuration management, and quality systems.
- Familiarity with mechanical or quality engineering enables effective interpretation of technical data and alignment with FAA, DoD, and AS9100 expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract and structure data from SAP (ECC or S/4HANA) across modules commonly used in aerospace operations, including **QM, PP, PM, MM, and ME**.
- Build and maintain dashboards and automated reporting for **production performance, nonconformance trends, supplier quality, maintenance metrics, and configuration status**.
- Develop SAP HANA views, queries, or BW data models to support engineering and quality analytics.
- Partner with Mechanical, Manufacturing, and Quality Engineering teams to define KPIs such as **yield, defect rates, escape metrics, first‐pass quality, and reliability indicators
- Analyze nonconformance, rework, and corrective action data to support **root‐cause investigations, MRB activities, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure data integrity and traceability in alignment with **AS9100, NADCAP, and customer/regulatory requirements.
- Support audits and compliance activities by providing validated data sets and documented reporting logic.
- Collaborate with IT and data governance teams to maintain secure, compliant data pipelines.
- Document data sources, transformation logic, and dashboard definitions for cross‐functional use.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in SAP data extraction (SAP tables, HANA SQL, BW queries, or ABAP-based retrieval).
- Experience with aerospace-relevant SAP modules, especially **QM** (quality notifications, inspections), **PP** (work orders, routings), and **MM** (procurement, supplier data).
- Ability to build dashboards in **Power BI**, Tableau, or similar tools with a focus on traceability and auditability.
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, or aerospace quality workflows.
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets and ensuring data accuracy.
- Ability to communicate technical findings to engineering, operations, and leadership teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or related field.
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing, MRO, or defense environments.
- Familiarity with **AS9100**, **FOD/FOE controls**, **configuration management**, and **MRB processes.
- Knowledge of quality engineering tools such as **FMEA, SPC, capability analysis, PFMEA, and RCCA.
- Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics or automation.
