We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead teams of dynamic and talented mechanical engineers and designers in the development of high performing, energy efficient and sustainable designs of HVAC systems for our clients. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full scope of HVAC engineering design projects, from conception to completion, while ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy. Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage a project team of HVAC engineers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support. Interface with other discipline team leaders and project managers.Oversee the design and development of high-performance HVAC systems, ensuring that they are efficient, life cycle cost effective, while meeting all relevant codes and standards.Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to the team to ensure that all designs are of the highest quality.Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.Provide input of scopes, budgets, and schedules into the development of proposals and bids for new projects.Participate in business development activities, including attending client meetings, conferences, and industry events.Essential Skills and Requirements:Bachelor's or Masters’ degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET.Professional Engineering registration is required, LEED accreditation highly preferred.Minimum of 8 years of experience in HVAC engineering design for life science, healthcare, academic, cultural and government facilities with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.Strong technical knowledge of high-performance HVAC systems, codes, and standards.High proficiency in engineering software for design (e.g., TRACE 3D, HAP, eQuest), documentation and coordination (Revit MEP, Navisworks).Minimum 8 years’ experience in the development of technical specifications, development of sequences of operation for automatic controls of HVAC systems including laboratory and health care applications.Thorough understanding of decarbonization trends, integration of electrification techniques into building systems, incorporation of systems features to support attainment of LEED gold ratings and beyond.Successful track record of starting and completing all phases of project development including construction administration.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills working in dynamic team environments.Proven track record of managing complex engineering design projects on time and within budget.Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.Our Flexible & Hybrid Work CultureWe know that work/life integration is important to our employees. Salary : $111,700 - $153,400
