Assistant Store Manager

Role Overview

The Assistant Store Manager supports store operations with a customer-first approach, helping to maintain a clean, organized store environment. Under the guidance of the Store Manager, they assist with supervising employees, managing merchandise presentation, completing paperwork, and preparing deposits. Additionally, they perform stocking, cashiering, and other duties to enhance profitability and customer satisfaction while safeguarding company assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service, greeting shoppers and operating cash registers.
• Assist with employee scheduling, training, and ensuring policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise handling, including receiving, stocking, and display setup per planograms.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, and paperwork.
• Ensure financial integrity through cash handling, register accountability, and deposit procedures.
• Support store management during the Store Manager’s absence.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving and organizational abilities with attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret manuals and perform mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling, security, and safety policies.

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 40-55 pounds.
• Use of equipment like scanners, pricing guns, and carts.
• Fast-paced environment with occasional outdoor exposure and driving duties.
