Position Summary
The Production Cable Helper I is responsible for the preparation of the production line, inspection and expediting completed products manufactured to the next manufacturing process. This role is open on Third Shift and reports to the shift Team Leader/Supervisor. Hourly wage plus a 10% differential wage for working the off shift.

The Production Cable Helper I is responsible for the preparation of the production line, inspection and expediting completed products manufactured to the next manufacturing process. This role is open on Third Shift and reports to the shift Team Leader/Supervisor. Hourly wage plus a 10% differential wage for working the off shift.
Essential Job Functions
- Assists machine operators in PM, change-over, set up, start up and shut down of the machines.
- Inspects and repairs incoming reels for cable defects to increase making the material acceptable for production.
- Preparation of reels when required.
- Material handles to provide and support constant production when required.
- Guides cable onto reels at take up to assure a quality wind-free of overlap or tangle.
- Inspects quality of cable including but not limited to jacketing defects, cable color, meter mark measurements, clarity and accuracy of printed part number description as documented on the setup sheet.
- Expedites completed product to the next operation.
- May recommend changes to improve cable processing.
- Responsible for defect reporting and logging defect of operator to move to the next process.
- Keeps work area clean and free of safety hazards.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
- Familiar with ISO 9001 Standards.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Good Communication Skills.
- Able to stand for long periods of time and lift 25 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- High School Diploma/GED desired
- Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
