The Director of Financial Planning & Lead Servicing Advisor is a senior role built around four responsibilities: serving as the primary advisor for an established group of client relationships, leading financial planning across the firm, directly managing two Client Service Associates, and keeping the founder focused and prepared for every client meeting. This is the right role for an accomplished CFP® professional who brings deep expertise in fixed annuities and fixed income, loves working with clients, and finds genuine satisfaction in developing a team and running a practice at a high level, without the pressure of building a book of business from scratch.

What You'll Do
Client Advisory & Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary advisor for an established group of client relationships.
- Lead client meetings, identify planning opportunities, and translate complex strategies into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Ensure client recommendations and follow-up are executed accurately and consistently.
- Apply deep knowledge of fixed annuities and fixed income to deliver well-rounded, client-specific guidance.
- Look ahead at the founder's calendar two weeks out and identify every client meeting requiring preparation.
- Pull client records, prepare comprehensive meeting reports, surface planning opportunities, and flag annuity renewals ahead of each appointment.
- Prepare the founder fully for each meeting so she can walk in ready to deliver; the Director prepares, the founder delivers.
- Rely on the CSA team to have baseline reports and paperwork ready; coordinate and review their output as part of your prep workflow.
- Anticipate what the founder needs and keep the meeting pipeline moving without prompting.
Financial Planning Leadership
- Oversee the development and delivery of comprehensive financial plans across the firm.
- Provide expertise across retirement, investments, tax planning, insurance, estate planning, Social Security, and legacy planning.
- Review complex cases and provide planning guidance to the team.
- Stay current on planning strategies, tax law changes, annuity products, and fixed income markets.
- Continually improve the firm's planning processes and client deliverables.
- Directly manage and develop two Client Service Associates, providing day-to-day direction, coaching, and accountability.
- Establish clear expectations around meeting preparation, paperwork, cash replenishment, and client follow-up.
- Work collaboratively with the CSA team, delegating effectively and reviewing their output to maintain quality.
- Identify and solve workflow or communication issues before they affect the client experience.
- Serve as the firm's consistent, in-office leadership presence and create a collaborative, high-performing team environment.
Experience
- 5 years of financial planning or wealth management experience
- Demonstrated experience managing client relationships in an advisory capacity
- Experience leading, mentoring, or directly managing team members
- Experience serving affluent and high-net-worth clients preferred
- Experience within an independent RIA or wealth management firm preferred
- Experience managing Client Associates, paraplanners, or associate advisors preferred
- Deep expertise in fixed annuities and fixed income; able to apply this knowledge confidently in client conversations and planning recommendations
- Strong comprehensive financial planning expertise across retirement, tax, insurance, estate, and investment strategy
- Excellent client communication and meeting leadership skills
- Proactive and forward-looking; anticipates what the founder and clients need before being asked
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and disciplined follow-through
- Confident manager who sets clear expectations, develops others, and holds the team accountable with warmth
- Looking for meaningful, long-term impact on a firm's clients, team, and future, not just a next advisor position
- Experience with eMoney or a comparable financial planning platform preferred
- Proficiency with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot to improve productivity, planning workflows, and client communication
- CFP® certification required
- Series 65 required
- Insurance licenses required
- Knowledge of fixed annuity products and fixed income markets required
