The Human Resources Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and administering human resources policies, programs, and practices to support organizational objectives. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws while providing strategic and operational HR leadership. The Human Resources Manager serves as a trusted advisor to management and employees on employee relations, performance management, compliance, and workforce planning.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, implement, and administer HR policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with business goals and legal requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to management on employee relations matters, including performance management, corrective action, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Oversee full cycle recruiting and onboarding processes, including workforce planning, job descriptions, candidate selection, and orientation for both exempt and non-exempt positions.
- Manage compensation and benefits programs, including payroll coordination, benefits administration, annual enrollment processes, and leave management process.
- Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, evaluations, and talent development planning.
- Partner with leadership on training initiatives and programs, organizational development, and succession planning.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR systems.
- Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports to support data-driven decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA). Including partnering with the operations team to lead the safety committee
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. However, candidates with significant progressive experience demonstrating equivalent knowledge and competencies may be considered
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of progressive human resources experience, including employee relations and compliance responsibilities.
- Prior experience in a generalist or managerial HR role preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong working knowledge of Federal, State, and Local employment laws and HR best practices.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent interpersonal, advise and negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and basic math competencies.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP).
- Experience in manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading HR through organizational growth or change.
Work Environment:
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of office materials up to 25 pounds.
- Professional office environment with business casual attire and standard office equipment.
- May require occasional travel to other company locations.
