Radiology Registration Administrator
Position Summary
Registration administrator is the first point of contact for patients, providers, and visitors. This position supports daily operations by scheduling imaging appointments, registering patients, verifying insurance, answering multi-line phones, coordinating with technologists and radiologists, and delivering an exceptional patient experience across one or more outpatient imaging centers.
Primary Responsibilities
• Welcome patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Schedule MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, X-ray, PET/CT, DEXA, and Fluoroscopy appointments.
• Register patients and verify demographics, insurance, and physician orders. • Collect co-pays and obtain required patient forms.
• Answer multi-line phones and assist patients and referring offices.
• Monitor voicemail, email, fax queues, and electronic work queues.
• Coordinate STAT and same-day appointments when appropriate.
• Prepare patient charts and ensure documentation is complete before appointments.
• Scan and index documents into the EMR/RIS.
• Support report requests and communication with providers and radiologists.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Preferred Systems Experience Experience with Exa RIS/EMR, PACS, RingCentral, Microsoft Office, electronic fax management, insurance verification portals, and prior authorization workflows is preferred.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required.
• One or more years of medical office or customer service experience; radiology experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient imaging environment.
