What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bill of Materials (BOM) Specialist position at Reznor HVAC?
The Bill of Materials Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining Bills of Material (BOMs), ensuring accuracy and completeness of product and manufacturing data. This role coordinates product certification activities with agencies such as ETL, UL, and CSA, including obtaining certifications for new products and managing ongoing compliance for existing product lines. The position serves as a key link between engineering, manufacturing, and certification bodies to support product development, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

Position Responsibilities:
- Work with Project Engineers, Designers and Product Management to layout BOM strategies and deploy them in MRP systems
- Maintain BOM through the Engineering Change Management system
- Act as the point of contact for testing agencies in the process of certifying new products and maintaining existing products
- Participate in project teams and all activities related to the development of new products
- Provide project updates to upper management
Position Requirements:
- Computer skills with Microsoft Office products
- Ability to quickly learn new computer programs
- Ability to read drawings and engineering documents
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Self-directed, adaptable, flexible, self-motivated, sense of urgency, and good listening skills
- Ability to thrive in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of bill of material experience
- Knowledge of HVAC systems
- Knowledge of SAP
- Experience with SolidWorks drawing creation
