Your Role:
As an Automation Engineer, you will be an innovator for manufacturing process control and automation for the plant. You will be working with state-of-the-art automated packaging machinery and will be responsible for incorporating programmable logic controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), servo systems, sensors, cameras, and other automation components.

- Design and optimize complete PLC-based control systems for automated packaging.
- Develop process control schemes, create programmable controller logic, and design Human Machine Interface (HMI) graphics.
- Determine layouts of control cabinets for PLCs and touchscreen interfaces and generate electrical wiring schematics.
- Setup and troubleshoot integration and networking of PCs, HMIs, PLCs, and third-party devices.
- Perform I/O check out, IP addressing, start-up, and commissioning of automation equipment and controls.
- Conduct operation and maintenance training.
- Control circuit, wiring, troubleshooting, and construction.
- Manage small-to-medium capital projects.

We need you to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Controls, or Automation Engineering (ABET accredited), Computer Science, or related field.
- 3 years of plant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with PLC programming, electrical troubleshooting, and control systems design.
- Allen Bradley/Rockwell, ABB and Siemens software and hardware experience.
- Programming, installation, and troubleshooting of AC and DC drives experience.
- Integrating and networking PCs and PLCs experience.
- Understanding of power distribution for medium-sized machinery.
- Knowledgeable about electrical troubleshooting using a voltmeter.
- Prior experience with new machinery installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Project management experience.
- Proficient in MS Office (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) and CAD Design.
- Master’s degree.
