Job Summary
The Lead Packaging Associate is responsible for overseeing the packaging operations within a manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as FDA regulations and CGMP guidelines. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, leadership skills, and familiarity with packaging processes to maintain efficient production flow and uphold quality standards. The position involves hands-on work with packaging equipment, assembly, and warehouse activities, supporting the team to meet production goals while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.
Duties
- Supervise daily packaging operations, ensuring adherence to GMP, FDA regulations, and company policies.
- Operate and troubleshoot packaging machinery, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), to maintain optimal performance.
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure timely completion of packaging tasks and assembly processes.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and packaging materials, performing minor repairs using hand tools as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of production activities in compliance with CGMP standards.
- Train and guide team members on proper packaging procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
- Ensure all packaging activities meet quality control standards and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in warehouse functions such as inventory management and forklift operation to support smooth workflow.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process inefficiencies and implementing solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience in manufacturing or packaging environments, preferably within a regulated industry such as pharmaceuticals or food production.
- Knowledge of FDA regulations, CGMP guidelines, and quality assurance standards relevant to packaging.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools and troubleshooting machinery controls including PLCs.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, forklift operation, and assembly processes.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise a team effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining compliance documentation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
