Overview
Pack Technician will manage daily activities of his/her area including ownership of the results, coaching the full time and temporary employees, interfacing with other departments and meeting production goals. One of the expectations of this position is that the candidate will be trained to work in all functional areas of the departments including but not limited to pre-grade, packing and production.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the start-up activities of the area including safety, quality, food safety inspections of fruit scheduled and the production line from the pre-dryer onward.
- Prepare packaging materials, load products onto assembly lines, and ensure accurate labeling and documentation throughout the process.
- Maintain upkeep of the production equipment including but not limited to replacement of wearable parts on scheduled basis, calibration and cleaning of the opticle systems, replacement of damage solenoids, replacement of damaged cups/fingers and reporting of damage equipment beyond normal wear.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area in accordance with safety protocols and warehouse best practices.
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely to move materials as needed within the facility.Experience
- Prior experience in manufacturing or packaging environments is highly preferred, especially within regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals or food production.
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automated packaging systems.
- Demonstrate proactive planning for line and area for the next day production, safety, sanitation, maintenance and team needs. Communicate with other areas regarding scheduling and other production related issues.
- Continuously monitor wax bed applications including spray bars, brush cleanliness and wear and verify correct applications are applied for fruit being run.
- Warehouse experience including forklift operation is advantageous.

- Completion of work orders as scheduled.
- Monitor production time including downtime, clean-outs, breaks, and work order execution.
- Conduct safety and food safety audits to ensure compliance with regulated standards on a scheduled basis.
- Responsible for operating computer systems to track quality trends, utilization and productivity trends.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
