Retail Yard Associate

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00/hour D.O.E.

Description:

Rexius is hiring a dependable, hardworking Retail Yard Associate to join our team at our Highway 99 location in Eugene.

As part of our retail yard crew, you'll help customers find the right landscape materials, load vehicles with soil, bark, and rock, and assist with receiving yard debris and other recyclable materials. You'll work alongside a small, supportive team that takes pride in serving our customers and keeping operations running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Help customers: Answer questions, recommend landscape materials, and provide friendly, knowledgeable service.
• Load materials: Assist customers with soil, bark, rock, compost, and other landscape products.
• Support yard operations: Receive yard debris and organic materials, inspect incoming loads, and remove trash and contaminants.
• Handle transactions: Accurately process cash and credit card payments.
• Maintain the yard: Perform routine cleaning, sweeping, shoveling, and general maintenance to keep the facility safe and organized.
• Work as a team: Adapt to changing priorities and pitch in wherever needed to keep things running smoothly.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn. Experience with landscape materials or equipment is a plus.

Our ideal candidate:

• Enjoys working outdoors in all types of weather.
• Is friendly, helpful, and comfortable interacting with customers.
• Works well with others and adapts to changing priorities.
• Is comfortable with physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Has basic computer skills and can learn point-of-sale systems.
• Takes safety seriously and follows established procedures.
• Has a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Has experience operating loaders or similar equipment (preferred).

What to Expect

Our Highway 99 yard is a busy, hands-on environment. You'll work alongside a close-knit crew that shares responsibilities, supports one another, and takes pride in serving our community.

Typical shifts run from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Our facility operates seven days a week.
