We are seeking a Payroll Manager to join our Rexel USA team in Dallas, TX! (Remote)


Location: Open to any location in the US


Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • The Payroll Manager plans, coordinates, manages, and assists in the administration of payroll. This includes the management of internal company processes and policies, monitoring internal controls and outsourcing vendor performance, overseeing team performance, and directing ongoing process improvement activities. Acts as a subject matter exporter who is responsible and accountable for managing all payroll processes, ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

Requirements:

  • Manages the production team’s work schedule against daily, weekly and monthly deadlines in order to meet and maintain vendor production schedule.
  • Provides recommendations on changes to policy, procedures, or rules that influence or affect the administration of payroll, and communicates recommendations and business decisions to the payroll vendor, team, and other internal team resources as appropriate.
  • Ensures internal controls are established related to HR/payroll employee master records and employee time files, and that these controls are maintained and monitored on a continuing basis, whether internally initiated or payroll vendor-initiated.
  • Responsible for the oversight and review of audit and management reports and all payroll processing at the appropriate time in accordance with the internal production schedule.
  • Researches, investigate, and reports all problems, corrections, and changes related to payroll, vendor payroll programs; responds to related inquiries and escalations in a timely manner.
  • Participates in vendor/company meetings for the development and ongoing administration of payroll, provides documentation on issues, and works collaboratively with payroll vendors, third-party vendors, and internal company divisions toward timely resolution.
  • Develop and maintain payroll processes and internal controls to preserve the quality, efficiency, and overall effectiveness of all payroll functions and regulatory compliance
  • Develop, coach, and motivate the team to meet HR Services and Customer Service Objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvements and standardization in the payroll function.
  • Provides direction and oversight for the daily operation of payroll tax, including tax system set up and testing, timely and accurate filing of tax liabilities, and maintains the relationships with outside tax and unemployment vendors.
  • Ensure management is fully informed of risks, issues, challenges and provide solutions.
  • Maintain a positive, results-orientated work environment, build partnerships, and model teamwork, communicating to the team in an open, balanced, and objective manner.
  • Collaborates closely with the HR team to optimize the payroll support to the business and employees.

Qualifications:

  • College degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent training and experience in the computerized payroll function
  • CPP Certification
  • 7 years of payroll and accounting experience
  • Experience managing payroll processing functions or vendors performing these functions
  • Effective communication skills

  • Above average computer literacy, e.g. Excel, Word, and various ADP applications
