Position Overview
We’re looking for a dependable, hard-working route driver to service portable restrooms across our Vandalia service area. This role is responsible for delivering, servicing, and maintaining porta potties while providing great customer service.
This is a hands-on job that requires someone who takes pride in their work, stays organized, and can work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Service portable restrooms on assigned routes (cleaning, pumping, restocking)
- Deliver and pick up units at job sites, homes, and events
- Safely operate vacuum trucks and service equipment
- Complete daily route logs and service reports
- Communicate with office staff on scheduling, issues, and customer needs
- Inspect equipment and report maintenance issues
- Ensure units are clean, stocked, and presentable
- Maintain a professional and respectful attitude with customers
Typical Work Schedule
- 5 days per week
- Routes typically run during daytime hours
- Occasional weekend work for events (seasonal)
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required—we can train)
- Ability to operate or learn to operate vacuum trucks
- Good driving record
- Ability to work independently and stay on schedule
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic mechanical skills are a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to bend, climb, and perform physical tasks throughout the day
