About The Role
POSITION SUMMARY - Operations Logistics Planner
The operations logistics planner will oversee supply chain processes and product delivery by tracking and reviewing invoices, shipment status, and delivery route activity.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, procedures and always acting in a safe manner
- Coordinate sampling and Inspection of products in storage tanks, barges, railcars, etc
- Utilize STUI for reporting, tracking, and scheduling
- Analysis product reports and maintain spreadsheets of each storage tank with product volumes and specs
- Is responsible for the scheduling, monitoring, and cost control of shipments sent for area assigned
- Is responsible for the scheduling, monitoring, and cost control of outside labor contractors
- Maintain multiple spreadsheets and handle reporting based on the spreadsheets maintained
- Request and report railcar freight rates, routing info and product labeling to sales department.
- Generate shipping orders and process BOLs for railcar shipments and receipts to railroad companies.
- Review, approve, and submit invoices to Account Payables
- Secure and charter barges for company product purchases/sales.
- Generate and issue barge movement nominations.
- Maintain a record of efficiencies and inefficiencies to assist leadership team with decisions relating to utilization, efficiency, and cost control
- Answer calls and emails regarding customer and company requests
- Provide and coordinate training in multiple areas of expertise for less experienced employees
- Implement new software systems and train vital team members in their operation as necessary to keep up with the growth of our business
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by management as required by the needs of the business.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Has a valid drivers license
- Adequate interpersonal skills to effectively maintain business relationships with co-workers, disposal facilities and contractors
- Possess organizational skills that enable them to effectively multitask in a fast paced business environment.
- Proficient in general logistics management and the coordination of multiple moving parts simultaneously
