About the role
Position Responsibilities:
- Perform daily walkdowns of the back ash area, inspecting conveyors, belts, rollers, separators, and related equipment for defects or abnormal conditions
- Monitor equipment performance, including speeds, alignment, ash buildup, and overall system cleanliness
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance and assist with corrective maintenance tasks throughout the day
- Participate in the daily morning kickoff meeting (20–30 minutes) with the maintenance team to review the day’s work plan
- Support scheduled system shutdowns to complete repairs safely and efficiently
- Operate industrial equipment, including front-end loaders (experience preferred)
- Utilize weekly activity books and critical items checklists to complete inspections and document equipment status
- Safely perform lock-out/tag-out procedures in support of maintenance activities
- Report equipment issues and submit repair requests using established work order processes
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in the back ash area
- Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations
Position Requirements & Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience operating heavy industrial equipment required
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and support maintenance on conveyors, belts, rollers, and related systems
- Experience as a Maintenance Mechanic (MM) or Equipment Operator (EO) is a strong plus
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule
- Strong commitment to safety, communication, and teamwork
- Must possess or be able to quickly obtain MA 1C/2C Hoisting License (refer to state of MA for license requirements)

Physical Demands of the Role:
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to qualify to wear a full-face respirator
- Ability to work in various weather conditions

Pay Transparency
This role is covered under a Labor Union / Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). The pay rate and benefits will be according to CBA for the role.
