Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Lumber Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their lumber and building material needs, ensuring a positive experience. You will engage with customers, provide product knowledge, and support sales efforts while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating lumber and related products.
- Provide knowledgeable advice on product selection, specifications, and usage.
- Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems.
- Upsell additional products or services based on customer needs.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking stock levels and reporting discrepancies.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Previous experience in a sales or construction trade is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse clientele.
- Basic math skills for accurate bidding and retail transactions
- Familiarity POS and ERP systems is advantageous.
- Experience in upselling techniques to enhance sales performance is a plus.
