Position Summary
The Strategic Design and Experience Lead serves as the Government's primary design thought partner and customer experience strategist. This position bridges O&E (Task 2) and IT, Cybersecurity, and Data (Task 3) operations, driving innovation in how information, services, and experiences are delivered to the military community through human-centered design and data-informed strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as primary design thought partner and customer experience strategist to Government leadership
- Bridge O&E and IT/Cybersecurity/Data operations to drive innovation
- Foster human-centered design principles across all program deliverables
- Guide creative and brand strategy development and implementation
- Interpret customer feedback and user insights to inform strategic decisions
- Enable modern, accessible, and data-informed customer experiences
- Provide design vision and innovation strategies to senior leadership, PMs, and product owners
- Apply modern design practices and accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG)
- Manage UI/UX testing, evaluation, and optimization processes
- Develop UX strategies incorporating journey mapping, usability testing, and iterative design
- Support agile website and application development including native mobile applications
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience shaping and delivering strategic design, customer experience, and/or brand innovation initiatives for Government or large-scale enterprise systems
- Minimum 5 years of experience with human-centered design, analysis of user feedback and behavioral data, and/or creative/brand strategy
- Minimum 3 years of experience providing design vision and innovation strategies to senior leadership
- Minimum 3 years of experience applying modern design practices, accessibility standards, and digital UX principles in agile development environments
- Possess a minimum of a favorably adjudicated Tier 3 security investigation
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Human-Centered Design, Business, or related field
- Experience interpreting user-centered data and digital performance measures
- Certifications in usability/UX design, PMI PMP/PgMP, human-centered design, or analytics/marketing
Pay: $140,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
