Position Description
As Senior IT Administrator at Revolutional, you own the internal technology environment for a growing federal technology company operating out of McLean, VA. This is not a ticket queue role. You are the senior IT practitioner in the building — the person leadership turns to when something needs to get done, a system needs to be evaluated, or a technology decision needs a trusted technical opinion.
You bring 5 or more years of hands-on IT experience across systems administration, infrastructure, endpoint management, and SaaS platform operations. You are equally capable of resolving a complex hardware or software issue and thinking strategically about how Revolutional’s internal IT environment should evolve as the company grows. You work closely with leadership, take initiative without being asked, and hold yourself to a high standard of documentation and operational discipline.

What You Will Own
- Revolutional’s internal IT environment: endpoints, infrastructure, systems, and user support across a 600 employee organization
- Hardware and software ticket resolution, including escalated and complex issues referred by or involving leadership
- Identity and access management across Active Directory, Azure AD, M365, SharePoint, and SSO platforms
- Office network infrastructure for the McLean headquarters
- Endpoint security, patching, and asset lifecycle management
- Core business systems administration and vendor relationships
- IT process documentation, knowledge base maintenance, and onboarding/offboarding workflow ownership
- Serve as the senior internal IT resource and primary point of escalation for hardware, software, network, and access issues across the organization; provide direct support to leadership and staff with equal professionalism and urgency
- Administer and optimize identity and access management across Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and related platforms; manage user lifecycle from onboarding through offboarding with precision and security discipline
- Own office network infrastructure for the McLean headquarters: switches, Wi-Fi, VPN, and connectivity; troubleshoot issues proactively and maintain reliable, secure network operations
- Manage endpoint lifecycle: image, configure, and deploy laptops and desktops; maintain patching cadence, endpoint security tools, and asset inventory across all company devices
- Administer core business systems including M365, SharePoint, ATS/HRIS platforms (Greenhouse, Paylocity, or equivalent), and other SaaS tools in partnership with HR, Recruiting, and Operations
- Manage hardware procurement, ISP relationships, and managed service vendors; make cost-conscious, operationally sound decisions on behalf of the company
- Lead IT components of onboarding and offboarding programs; deliver onboarding training for new hires and ensure a consistent, professional experience
- Manage and maintain conference room AV equipment, peripherals, and office technology infrastructure
- Develop and maintain IT documentation: standard operating procedures, runbooks, knowledge base articles, and system configuration records
- Evaluate new tools and technologies; provide leadership with informed recommendations on IT investments, security improvements, and infrastructure upgrades
- Partner with leadership on IT strategy: contribute to roadmap discussions, identify gaps in the current environment, and take ownership of improvement initiatives
- Provide leadership for the expansion and adoption of security tools (i.e., Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and Intune).
What You Bring (Requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 or more years of hands-on experience in IT systems administration, infrastructure, or a senior hybrid helpdesk/admin role
- Demonstrated experience supporting a mid-size organization, or larger, with end-to-end IT ownership, not solely ticket resolution
- Proficiency administering Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory at an organizational level: licensing, security policies, groups, and compliance features
- Hands-on experience with endpoint management: laptop imaging, device deployment, MDM tools, patching, and asset inventory. Prefer knowledge with Intune and JAMF.
- Working knowledge of office network infrastructure: managed switches, enterprise Wi-Fi, VPN configuration, and basic network troubleshooting
- Experience administering SSO, identity platforms, and managing user access governance
- Familiarity with SaaS business system administration: ATS, HRIS, project management, and collaboration platforms
- Proficiency in both Windows and macOS environments
- Experience with SharePoint administration: site management, permissions, and basic configuration
- Strong documentation discipline: you leave systems and processes better documented than you found them
- Operates with senior-level ownership: you don’t wait to be told what needs attention, you identify it and address it
- Trusted by leadership: you communicate clearly, follow through consistently, and handle sensitive access and systems with discretion
- Technically broad and operationally reliable — you cover the full IT stack without gaps and keep the environment running with minimal noise
- Continuously improving: you document what you do, identify what could work better, and drive incremental improvements to the IT environment over time
- Experience supporting a GovCon or federal contracting environment, including familiarity with security and compliance requirements
- CompTIA Security , Network , or Microsoft certifications (MS-900, AZ-900, or higher)
- Experience evaluating or implementing new IT tools, conducting vendor assessments, or contributing to IT roadmap planning
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices: zero trust principles, endpoint hardening, and security awareness program support
- Experience with ITSM platforms or structured ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or equivalent)
