Job Title: Technical Lead – Backend Integration (Contract)
Location: Baltimore, MD/Onsite Requirement
Duration: 12 month contract
Overview:
We are seeking a Technical Lead with strong experience in backend integration and cloud-native development. The ideal candidate will lead the design and delivery of high-performance APIs and integrations, mentor developers, and ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing, deployment, and agile delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend integrations using Node.js, AWS Lambda, EKS, Kafka, MongoDB, and related technologies.
- Oversee deployments of APIs and applications to AWS using Jenkins, Urbancode, and Terraform.
- Configure/manage CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure provisioning.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and enforce code quality through reviews and best practices.
- Write and maintain test cases using Jest, Postman, Mocha, or Chai.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, facilitate agile ceremonies, and manage backlog priorities.
- Utilize JIRA for task tracking, reporting, and ensuring transparency of team progress.
- Monitor metrics, risks, and dependencies to guide project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Proven expertise in AWS, Node.js, Lambda, EKS, Kafka, MongoDB, TypeScript, MERN stack.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, cloud automation, and API development (Swagger/OAS).
- Strong agile project delivery background; experience facilitating ceremonies and reporting metrics.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Insurance domain knowledge strongly preferred.
