Job Summary
We are looking for a physical therapy technician for our fast paced clinic located in Southaven Mississippi to join our team. The ideal candidate would have availability during the day, preferably 8am-5pm Monday thru Friday.
This position requires excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude. You will assist the physical therapist by preparing/cleaning the treatment areas, communicating with patients, monitoring the schedule, helping patients with exercises and ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care throughout their rehabilitation journey.
This position can also involve assisting with patient intake and assisting the office manager.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of anatomy and physiology, along with excellent patient service skills.
A compassionate, detail-oriented individual with experience as a physical therapy aide or technician is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists with patient treatment plans and exercises.
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure all necessary equipment is clean and ready for use.
- Help patients with mobility and exercises as directed by the therapist.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes to the supervising therapist.
- Educate patients on proper techniques for exercises and rehabilitation activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient files.
- Assist patients with exercises and mobility tasks under the supervision of licensed therapists.
- Cleaning and preparing treatment areas and equipment before and after each session.
- Changing and washing patients' linens and pillows.
- Recording patients' progress for the Physical Therapist.
- Performing clerical tasks, such as answering phones and scheduling appointments.
- Handling paperwork when necessary.
- Provide support during patient intake processes, including gathering medical history and relevant information.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills related to physical therapy practices.
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for patients, addressing any concerns they may have.
- Collaborate with the team to optimize patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to physical therapy.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being able to work independently when necessary.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients and healthcare professionals.

- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous clinical experience and on-the-job training is a bonus.
