Junior Designer

This position is responsible for designing bath products including, but not limited to: bath towels, bath rugs, bath mats, and beach towels for respective Revman Brands as assigned.  Position is also responsible for increasing Design development while shortening the time it takes to create concepts; working efficiently and creatively to develop successful products. Position is also active in creating presentations for internal and external meetings by working closely with the sales team and respective buying teams.  

Responsibilities:

• Product Design: Bath and Beach Design includes, but not limited to, bath towels, bath rugs, bath mats, beach towels for respective Revman brands as assigned
• Responsible for working with Bath Designer to develop all artwork needs for Revman brands (concepts, layouts, repeats, colorings, coordinates, etc.) suitable for presentation to customers and/or development packets to send to vendors
• Responsible for increasing Design and Product Development capability and capacity within the department to meet increased needs and a growing workload
• Responsible for communicating with vendors to accomplish product designs for Revman Market Collections and private label as needed to meet deadlines
• Responsible for creating design specs and standards for production of active projects with vendors and providing direction and references for same on all projects for that business segment
• Responsible for maintaining an accurate design file system of ongoing projects
• Responsible for updating the Product Manager with current status of design projects and coordinating with Product Tech as needed
• Responsible for working with the Bath Designer to produce Revman Market Bath Collections as well as rolling development to meet buyer’s quarterly timeframes
• Responsible for meeting pre-production deadlines in a timely fashion for “SOLD” items, to include: reviewing and approving samples to make shipping deadlines
• Responsible for addressing all matters in a timely fashion in regard to inter-office duties, working with the customers, as well as outside vendor communication and licensors as applicable
• Responsible for providing product designs and meeting materials/presentations for internal and external meetings by working closely with the Sales and Merchandising staff
• Responsible for maintaining awareness of current design trends through regular review of industry publications; home and fashion magazines; and regular visits to main bath customer to be aware of their current product lines and avoid design duplication
• Responsible for reviewing development samples and communicating revisions and approvals to the mill in a clear and concise manner

Essential Skills and Experience:

• BA/BFA in Design/Textile Design or Design-related major (required - i.e. Textiles, Product Development, Home Fashions, or Apparel)
• Experience with weaving, general knowledge of how fabrics and materials are woven and dyed.
• One to two years of Home Fashions experience with CAD and related home product development fields
• Possess strong working knowledge and proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator, with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Knowledge of Google drive and Google applications
• Documented experience in the Design field from both college and work experience, strong color-sense, knowledge of current trends and lifestyle brand aesthetics
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and successfully prioritize workload
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in order to effectively communicate and report information to all levels of the Company
• Possess strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to prioritize work, be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Experience in product design and specification for manufacture
• Experience with and ability to meet deadlines for design development and production and prioritize and re-prioritize as necessary to meet changing needs
• Ability to understand significance of information and act accordingly to insure proper outcome; whether to inform others or act
• Ability to work within a team on all projects
• Ability to multi-task on a routine basis, be detail-oriented, adapt plans and change direction as needed, have a proactive mindset and have the ability to perform the job under a moderate to high level of stress
