Schedule: Hybrid work environment with flexibility to work remotely outside of required program hours. On-site presence is required every Tuesday (9:00–6:30 pm) and Wednesday (9:00–7:30 pm) and as needed for volunteer sessions, events, and outreach activities.

Position Overview: The Program and Operations Manager is a key team member who drives our strategy and execution for the Teen Chef and Adult Volunteering Programs, overseeing, recruitment and execution for our volunteer staff, while creating a smooth and cohesive operating environment that will attract, retain and grow our volunteers.
In this role, you will set and execute the recruitment and onboarding strategy for high school volunteers, as well as our adult volunteers. You will oversee meal packaging operations along with organizational logistics, ensuring a positive and structured experience for the teens and adults.
As a successful candidate in this role, you bring the ability to build strong relationships with schools and community partners, craft and maintain an efficient scheduling process, and connect with our volunteers and partners on a personal level. You thrive in environments where you can identify and implement new efficiencies and proactive approaches to volunteer staffing. You are organized, resourceful and personal and you are passionate about empowering teens and strengthening community impact through food as medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
● Teen Chef Program: Oversee growth strategy, recruitment, scheduling, training, and evaluations.
● Adult Volunteer Program: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, communication, appreciation, and scheduling.
● Communicate weekly to confirm shifts, provide updates and address volunteer needs. Track and maintain volunteer data and attendance in Salesforce
● Supervise daily meal/food packaging and kitchen support operations with volunteers and coordinate delivery logistics with volunteer drivers.
● Build school and community partnerships, attending outreach events, and crafting new ways to engage volunteers.
● Cultivate and manage partnerships with established network partners for volunteers.
● Design and implement surveys and feedback tools for teen/adult volunteers to ensure a positive volunteer and client experience.
● Be on-site whenever teen/adult volunteers are present to ensure oversight and support
● Ensure a proper working environment is possible for our volunteers by overseeing the office and kitchen supplies for food packaging and office use.
● Oversee and ensure all policies and procedures are followed during volunteer shifts.
● Coordinate weekly delivery logistics for groceries/produce, packaging, and linens.
● Support IT tools and equipment; basic troubleshooting and coordination with tech vendors.
Qualifications and Experience:
● You bring anywhere from 3 years of experience managing teams and programs with nonprofits, social work, public health, education or a related field.
● Your experience is accompanied by an entrepreneurial spirit where you understand finances and budget constraints yet are quick to identify opportunities for better efficiency in our operations as well as growth opportunities.
● You have experience with youth development programs and proven abilities to lead a team of volunteers.
● As a small team, you are the key to mission success and do not hesitate to proactively do what is needed, while trusting that you have a supporting team around you to help.
● You have proficiency with scheduling, data tracking, and communication tools; Salesforce experience a plus.
● Ability to work onsite during program hours, including evenings, and events.
● Basic knowledge of kitchen operations or food safety is helpful, but not required.
● Comfortable with light facilities management and vendor coordination.
