POSITION SUMMARY:
The Compliance Director ensures that the Board of Directors, management of the company, and employees follow the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies. They will have skills and experience sufficient to identify potential issues within a variety of compliance areas (Finance, Utilization, Program Planning, Licensing, Funding, Human Resources, Agency Policy/Procedures, etc.).
The Compliance Director will be responsible for programs, policies, and practices to ensure that program(s) follow federal, state, and local regulatory and accreditation requirements. This position will also stay abreast of laws and regulations that might affect the organization’s policies and procedures. This position will be able to remain objective and function independently from other agency departments. The Compliance Director will be detail oriented and have experience with investigative and reporting procedures. These duties apply to the Revive Life House operated by Revive Ministries, Inc.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Compliance Director’s chief duties are planning, implementing, and monitoring the Corporate Compliance Program. Coordination of compliance audit activities and communication of expectations and reporting results are the key functions of this position. Additional duties include assisting and researching grant writing.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
Educational requirements include a bachelor's degree in a related area, Master’s degree preferred. Experience includes at least 5 years of involvement in the related field to include demonstrated leadership. Familiarity with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures in areas such as Finance, Utilization, Program Planning, Licensing, Funding, Human Resources, Agency Policy/Procedures, etc.
Must have knowledge of medical privacy and confidentiality (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act [HIPAA]); computer applications/software to include Microsoft Office programs/ MS Outlook (e-mail), and internet familiarity.
JOB DUTIES:
- Oversee and monitor the implementation of the Corporate Compliance Program, which includes ongoing maintenance and compliance of CARF.
- Report to the CFO on a regular basis to review progress on program implementation and assist with establishing improvement plans.
- Periodically revise and update the Compliance Program and communicate the objectives of the Compliance Program and report accomplishments ongoing..
- Review Standards of Conduct Statements, working closely with Human Resources department.
- Develop and implement a Compliance training plan for all employees.
- Assist the Finance Department in coordinating internal compliance review and monitoring activities.
- Investigate complaints and coordinate action plans with other departments.
- Develop policies and programs that encourage staff to report suspected fraud or impropriety without fear of retaliation.
- Access records relevant to compliance monitoring activities and report findings.
- Maintain a log of communications received relevant to compliance such as reports of calls received, investigations conducted, findings and recommendations developed, action plans established, and progress noted.
- Establish and communicate reporting procedures and reporting modes available (e‐mail, online reporting, voice mail, suggestion box, etc.).
- Interview internal and external people periodically.
- Analyze utilization patterns within departments.
- Conduct unannounced mock surveys, inspections, audits, and investigations periodically to assess staff readiness and to specifically identify where corrective actions are needed.
- Re‐evaluate areas of previous deficiency to identify improvements.
- Present written evaluations and reports to the Compliance Committee, ED and/or Board of Directors at least annually.
- Research and write grants based on the current needs of Revive Ministries Inc., for the benefit of any of the four Key Pillars including Life House, NextGen, etc.
- To manage all awarded grants to ensure compliance with the allocation of funds.
- Other duties as assigned.

Must be able to sit, stand, bend, reach overhead and lift up to 10 pounds; travel outside of the office and/or attend meetings both during and after normal work hours, both at and away from the work site. May involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Requires about 6 hours of sitting and no more than 2 hours of standing or walking in an 8-hour workday. No significant stooping is required.
Environmental Conditions:
The employee will work indoors in a residential setting with central heating and air conditioning. The house is open and well ventilated with central heating and air conditioning. The person may work outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions during times of community activities representing Revive.
Mental Demands:
There are deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant levels of stress for some individuals. The position will deal with the private and or government entities and community partners, as well as various staff and possibly clients on a variety of issues that could lead to stress.
WORK EXPECTATIONS:
- Minimum of 40 hours per week
- Must be able to work well with others.
- Minimal travel may be required.
