We are seeking a dedicated Housing/Shelter Support staff member to work at the Revive' s ERP Encampment Resoulution Program and across multiple scatter site’s. This role involves providing support and assistance to our program operations and the individuals we serve who are working on recovery and long-term housing stability. You will be an integral part of our guests' journeys by fostering a safe, supportive, and structured environment during swing and/or overnight hours. The role includes monitoring the well-being of guests, addressing any needs or concerns, providing operations support for check-ins, supporting clean up, stocking of supplies, and collaborating with team members to maintain a positive atmosphere.

The role includes monitoring the well-being of guests, addressing any needs or concerns, providing operations support for supporting clean up, stocking of supplies, and collaborating with team members to maintain a positive atmosphere.

Location: Spokane, WA
Employment Type: Full-Time, Friday-Tuesday

  • Swing Shift: 2 pm – 10:30 pm
  • Graveyard: Shift 10 pm - 6:30am

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Build rapport with guests and provide emotional support as needed during evening and nighttime routines.
  • Ensure a calm and supportive environment for guests throughout your shift.
  • Assist guests with activities of daily living.
  • Monitor the premises and address any issues that may arise, such as wellness checks or requests for assistance.
  • Collaborate with case managers, house managers, counselors, and other staff to address any concerns or challenges that guests may face.
  • Assist in resolving conflicts or managing crises with professionalism and empathy.
  • Participate in community activities, meetings, and events related to resident care and transitional support.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident interactions, incidents, and shift activities.
  • Ensure that agency policies, safety protocols, and confidentiality guidelines are followed.
  • Follow daily cleaning routines that consist of sanitizing all surfaces, mopping, sweeping, emptying trash cans, cleaning showers and restrooms.
  • De-escalation techniques and evidence based interventions.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and file compliance.
  • Experience in strengths-based, person-centered case management, and familiarity with tenant rights, community resources, and social services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, record-keeping, and reporting.
  • Ability to set boundaries, empower clients, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
  • Cultural sensitivity, creativity, and commitment to client empowerment and personal growth.
  • Assist in de-escalation interventions, resolving conflicts or managing crises with professionalism and empathy.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and data entry into the agency’s systems.
  • Able to work 40 hours a week.
  • Drivers license required/ reliable vehicle and active car insurance.
  • Flexibility to work swing and night shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to walk, bend, kneel and lift up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodations.

Experience:

Lived Experience: Personal experience in recovery from trauma, mental illness, addiction, incarceration, homelessness, or similar challenges.

Housing Knowledge: Familiarity with housing resources and programs at both the state and local level in Spokane, Washington.

Preferred but not required: Skills & Training: Expertise or training in the following is highly valued:

  • Motivational interviewing
  • De-escalation techniques
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Harm-reduction approaches
  • Strengths-based and empowerment perspectives

Peer Support Certification (Preferred): Completion of the DBHR 40-hour peer support specialist training, including passing the state-required test.

Licensing Ability: Eligible to obtain the Department of Health (DOH) Agency Affiliated Counselor License.

Preferred: At least two years of experience in social services field, including peer support, case management, supportive housing or independent living services, under qualified supervision.

Preferred Certificates and/or Licenses:

  • DBHR certified Peer Support Specialist, preferred
  • DOH Agency Affiliated License, preferred

Benefits & Compensation

  • Pay range for this position: $18-$22 per hour depending on experience.
  • Paid Time Off: 80 hours vacation, 9 paid holidays, and accrued sick leave
