DESCRIPTION

Revival Theatre Company is seeking immediate video submissions for the roles in our upcoming 2026-27 season of shows, 1776, Falsettos and Company. Only non-Equity submissions will be accepted at this time.

JOHN ADAMS

Male. 40s. Delegate from Massachusetts. John is a dutiful husband. Opinionated, passionate, and

a bit boisterous, he wears his age with pride. Starving for independence from England. Vocal

range: C3–F#4.

BENJAMIN FRANKLIN

Male. 60s. Delegate from Pennsylvania. Franklin is intelligent, well-traveled, and pleasantly

cunning. A jolly and admirable fellow with whom one would desire to have a friendship. Vocal

range: Ab2–Eb4.

THOMAS JEFFERSON

Male. 30s. Delegate from Virginia. Though noticeably tall, Jefferson is mild-mannered and

sweet. Along with being a well-read man, he is very much in love with his wife. Vocal range:

C3–G4.

EDWARD RUTLEDGE

Male. 30s. Delegate from South Carolina. Despite his good looks, Rutledge is haunting and

somewhat ominous as the youngest member of the Continental Congress. There is a serpent-like

quality to him. Vocal range: C3–A4.

COURIER

Male. 20s. Any ethnicity. The message runner between General Washington's army and the

Continental Congress. He has witnessed the hardships of war firsthand, although his innocent

disposition and appearance may imply otherwise. Vocal range: C3–Db4.

JOHN DICKINSON

Male. 40s. Delegate from Pennsylvania. A thin, hawkish gentleman. He is sharp-tongued and a

touch detestable. Vocal range: A2–E4.

MARVIN

Lead. Male. 27-45

Tenor G#2-Bb4

Jewish, intelligent, gay, neurotic, and often self-centered. Recently left his wife and son to be

with Whizzer. Struggles to reconcile love, responsibility, and identity. Must balance sharp humor

with emotional depth.


WHIZZER

Lead. Male. 18-35

Tenor Bb2-Ab4

Handsome, gay, athletic, and charming. Initially resistant to commitment, he grows into a deeply

loving partner. Requires strong physical presence and emotional vulnerability.


DR. CHARLOTTE

Supporting. 30-50

Alto/Mezzo F3-F5. A no-nonsense physician with dry wit and deep compassion. Part of the

“lesbians from next door.” Strong comedic and vocal presence.

ROBERT

The story's protagonist, he is a keen observer who appears happy but holds pain in his heart. He

is the only one of his friends still single. Terrified of marriage and fears a lifelong loneliness.

LARRY

Joanne's husband. He is stoic and centered, but has moments of goofiness. Indulges his wife's

behavior but knows when to put his foot down. Gender: Male Age: 45 to 55 Vocal range top: A5

MARTA

A girlfriend of Robert's. Intensely modern, who is seeking adventure and excitement in the City.

Gender: Female Age: 20 to 30 Vocal range top: A5 Vocal range bottom: A3


KATHY

An old girlfriend of Robert's, who is now considered a good friend. She plans to leave the City

for a life of domesticity. Sweet and loving. Gender: Female Age: 25 to 35 Vocal range top: A5

APRIL

A girlfriend of Robert's. She is a flight attendant who came to New York to live in Radio City.

Ditzy and adorable. Gender: Female Age: 25 to 35 Vocal range top: A5 Vocal range bottom: A3



PAUL

Amy's fiancé. Mildly clingy, but patient to her neurotic nature. He is fully committed to the idea

of marriage and encourages Rob


SARAH

Harry's hyper critical wife. She is an avid learner of karate and tends to overeat. Open, accepting,

and full of love. Gender: Female Age: 30 to 40 Vocal range top: A5 Vocal range bottom: A3


HARRY

Sarah's husband. He is a recovering alcoholic continually falling off the wagon. Believes the

advantages of marriage outweigh the disadvantages. Gender: Male Age: 35 to 45 Vocal range

SUSAN

A delicate southern belle. Peter's wife and ex-wife. Motherly in her affections towards Robert.

Gender: Female Age: 30 to 40 Vocal range top: A5 Vocal range bottom: A3


PETER

Susan's husband. The perfect husband and ex-husband. He is very liberal in his view of

relationships. Gender: Male Age: 30 to 40 Vocal range top: A5 Vocal range bottom: B3


JENNY

Quietly manipulative, simultaneously square and wise. Loves her husband, David, and will

indulge him from time to time. Gender: Female Age: 30 to 40 Vocal range top: A5 Vocal range

bottom: A3


DAVID

Jenny's husband, he is relaxed and always in control. Believes a man should be married and that

the sacrifice of freedom is worth what you get in return. Gender: Male Age: 30 to 40

Vocal range top: A5 Vocal range bottom: B3



Audition: Please send a vocal side of 32 bars. A performance reel is also preferred. Please include: Headshot and resume (attached or linked). Links where we have to ask for permission to access will be ignored.


Video: This is a video (self-tape) audition. Email your submission (YouTube link preferred). Self-tape video containing all prepared pieces. One continuous video or separate clips are both fine. Subject line: 1776, Falsettos and/or Company. Submission deadline: July 14.


Accommodations: All travel, housing and a car is provided. You must have a valid driver's licence and carry car insurance to drive.
