MITIGATION TECHNICIAN

Position Summary

The Mitigation Technician is the frontline of project execution, performing mitigation services across water, fire, mold, and emergency response work. This role operates under the direction of the Mitigation Superintendent, executing field work with urgency, skill, and compassion.

Mission

1. Respond to water, fire, mold, and emergency jobs.

2. Execute mitigation work in alignment with defined scope, standards, and schedule.

3. Develop technical skills and IICRC knowledge to grow as a mitigation professional.

4. Support the Lead Superintendent in field execution and jobsite documentation.

5. Maintain company standards and core values.

Outcomes

1. Maintain 95% of assigned project tasks completed within defined scope and schedule.

2. Achieve IICRC certification in water damage within 6 months of employment.

3. Maintain 100% of active equipment monitored and readings documented at each required interval.

4. Maintain zero documented IICRC or OSHA violations.

5. Maintain 100% vehicle and equipment readiness prior to each shift.

Responsibilities

1. Field Operations

a. Assist in mitigation work in alignment with defined scope and standards, including extraction, structural drying, demolition, and dehumidification.

b. Perform mold remediation and related work in accordance with IICRC guidelines.

c. Operate hand tools and power tools to complete mitigation tasks.

2. Emergency Response

a. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergency service calls.

b. Support emergency response efforts during high-demand situations (e.g., storms, natural disasters).

c. Assist in rapid mobilization and setup for emergency mitigation work.

3. Jobsite Communication & Documentation

a. Provide clear and consistent updates to the Superintendent on job progress and needs.

b. Participate in daily huddles to review progress and plan upcoming work.

c. Complete accurate and current documentation of all work performed using company systems (e.g., Encircle, PSA).

4. Equipment & Shop Maintenance

a. Maintain a water-ready vehicle and ensure equipment is prepared for routine and emergency use.

b. Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicles, equipment, and shop.

c. Monitor and maintain equipment in use on active jobsites.

Reporting / Typical Day

This position reports directly to the Mitigation Superintendent. A typical day includes morning meetings, shop and vehicle upkeep, and monitoring equipment on active jobsites. This is a physically demanding, field-based role performed across varying jobsite conditions including construction environments and weather exposure. Typical work hours are 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM; however, as an emergency response business, hours may vary based on project and service needs.

Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
