Position Title: Senior Planner
Reports To: Senior Manager, Supply Chain & Fulfillment
Department: Operations
Location: Irving, TX
The Senior Planner will place orders for finished goods and marketing assets, manage inventory, and maintain purchasing files. This individual will communicate effectively with suppliers to obtain the best prices for quality products and ensure on time delivery. They will also assist with channel forecasting and forecast accuracy tracking. They will also be responsible for managing and executing department reporting, as well as lead department projects. A positive attitude in a fast-paced environment is essential. The candidate will possess the ability to succeed in a rapidly changing environment, be skilled at anticipating problems, and manage multiple priorities in a lean environment.
Essential Duties & Functions
- Purchasefinished goods, promotional items, and marketing assets,as needed
- Lead inventory pipeline and manageinflowproduction reporting
- Manage inventory receipts; ensuring transactions are completed in ERP system and reconciled with Warehouse
- Work with Finance to complete item setups and pricing
- Refine processes to purchase finished goods, promotional items, and marketing assets, as needed
- Manage new product launchesfrom inventory perspective
- Work collaboratively withMarketing teamson Marketing Asset launches and discontinuations
- Lead a portionofdepartmental projects
- Lead vendor management
- Workcollaborativelywith 3rdpartyvendorsto receive product, correct errors, and implement corrective actions
- Manage SAP item clean up and item master data for active and inactive SKUs
- Manage and execute department reporting and communication of reporting as needed
- Assist with Consensus Forecasting Cycle via reporting, file building, and accuracy tracking
- Assist with new product forecasting and budget/SKU forecasting
- Communicate inventory shortfall and manage challenges with the field team
Experience
- 5 years’ experience in sourcing, planning, purchasing or combination thereof.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or closely related field of study preferred)
Skills
- Possess a thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management concepts.
- Strong SAP experience
- Strong report building experience (Excel)
- “Hands-on” orientation -- willingness to roll-up sleeves and get the work done.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building-skills, with the ability to communicate up, down and across levels of the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous purchasing experience in cosmetics, beauty, or consumer packaged goods preferred.
