Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to own our accounting operations, ensure financial accuracy, and provide timely, insightful reporting to leadership. This role will be critical in building financial discipline, strengthening internal controls, and supporting the company’s continued growth.
As a key member of the team, this will oversee all accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and provide accurate financial reporting to support informed decision-making. Key Responsibilities include:
Accounting & Close
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
- Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
- Ensure accurate, timely, and GAAP-compliant financial statements
- Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for leadership
- Analyze financial performance and explain variances
- Support operational and strategic decision-making with data
Cash Management & Controls
- Maintain strong internal controls and approval processes
- Monitor liquidity and forecast cash needs
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Maintain rolling forecasts
- Support scenario modeling and planning initiatives
Systems & Process Improvement
- Own accounting systems and financial tools
- Improve, document, and scale accounting processes
- Coordinate with external accounting, tax, and audit partners
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Work closely with leadership and operational teams
- Provide clear financial insight and recommendations
- Act as a trusted financial advisor within the organization
Overview of Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5–10 years of accounting or finance controllership experience in the construction or utility services sector
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience owning month-end close and financial reporting
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite)
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Preferred
- CPA or CMA
- Experience in a growing or multi-entity environment
- Experience improving or building accounting processes
- Background working with external auditors or lenders
