We are seeking a results-driven, commission-based Business Development Representative to grow sales of Separ-branded diesel fuel water separators and related filtration solutions across the agriculture and construction markets. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strong customer relationships, and helping equipment owners, dealers, fleet operators, and service providers protect diesel engines from water and contaminant damage while driving profitable territory growth. The ideal candidate has experience calling on large agricultural and heavy-equipment organizations, dealer networks, and strategic accounts similar to major OEM channels.
Key Responsibilities
· Identify and develop new sales opportunities within agriculture, construction, heavy equipment, and diesel-powered fleet accounts, with a focus on large strategic customers and dealer networks.
· Build relationships with farm operators, equipment dealers, contractors, rental fleets, maintenance managers, distributors, and regional or national account decision-makers.
· Call on organizations comparable to major agricultural and construction equipment brands and their dealer channels to position Separ-branded diesel fuel water separators as a value-added maintenance and equipment protection solution.
· Conduct product presentations and demonstrations explaining the value of Separ-branded diesel fuel water separators, including water removal, contaminant control, reduced downtime, and extended equipment life.
· Prospect through cold outreach, referrals, trade shows, field visits, and industry networking to build a strong sales pipeline.
· Prepare quotes, proposals, and pricing recommendations, and negotiate terms to close new business.
· Manage territory activity, maintain accurate CRM records, and provide regular pipeline and forecast updates.
· Collaborate with internal teams on product availability, customer requirements, technical questions, and after-sales support.
· Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities and product positioning strategies.
· Support channel development with dealers, OEM-related accounts, service shops, and distribution partners.
· Meet or exceed assigned revenue, margin, and new-account targets.
Qualifications
· 2 years of business development, outside sales, or account management experience in industrial, diesel, heavy equipment, filtration, fuel systems, agriculture, or construction-related products.
· Strong understanding of consultative selling, prospecting, territory development, and strategic account management.
· Experience working with dealer groups, OEM-style channels, large fleet accounts, or regional and national equipment organizations is highly desirable.
· Ability to communicate technical product benefits in a clear, practical way to end users and decision-makers.
· Excellent relationship-building, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
· Highly self-motivated with the discipline to manage a pipeline, generate leads, and work independently in a performance-driven environment.
· Experience using CRM tools, Microsoft Excel, and standard business software.
· Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within assigned territory.
Preferred Experience
Experience selling diesel engine components, fuel filtration systems, water separators, pumps, or related maintenance products is highly preferred. Familiarity with premium filtration solutions or Separ-branded diesel fuel water separators is a strong advantage. Familiarity with agricultural operations, construction equipment applications, bulk fuel handling, or off-road diesel equipment is also highly valuable. Direct experience selling into dealer networks or organizations comparable to major equipment brands in the agriculture and construction sectors is especially valuable.

Work Environment and Travel
This role typically involves a combination of field sales, customer site visits, distributor meetings, trade show participation, and home-office reporting. Regular regional travel is expected, with occasional overnight travel depending on territory size and customer needs.
Compensation
This is a commission-based sales role designed for a motivated business development professional who is confident building a pipeline and closing new business. Compensation is earned through sales performance and includes commission on new accounts, repeat business, and strategic account growth. Additional support, such as product training, sales materials, and territory guidance, will be provided.
