Role Overview
As our on‐call IT Technician, you will respond to IT support needs across multiple locations, typically 3–4 service calls per month. This role is ideal for a self‐motivated contractor who enjoys hands‐on technical work, problem‐solving, and working independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Configuration: Set up and configure LAN/WAN hardware including routers, switches, and wireless access points. Experience using PuTTY or similar terminal software is required.
- Cable Management: Install, manage, and test cabling infrastructure, including fiber.
- Technical Support: Respond to on‐site IT support calls for libraries and schools across Northern Indiana.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of CompTIA Network , Cisco CCNA, or A (certifications not required).
- Strong proficiency with TCP/IP, networking hardware, Windows Server, and Linux environments.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as cabling, rack mounting, and equipment installation.
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem‐solving skills.
