Are you an experienced HVAC technician looking for a stable, long-term opportunity where you can work on complex systems?
We are recruiting for a large, established healthcare organization in Flint, Michigan that is adding an experienced HVAC Technician to its Facilities team.
This is a hands-on role maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing and improving the heating, cooling, ventilation and refrigeration systems that keep a major facility running every day.
What You'll Be Doing
- Troubleshoot, maintain and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Work with heating, ventilation, air conditioning and climate-control equipment
- Repair compressors, condensers, pumps, piping and related mechanical equipment
- Install and troubleshoot pneumatic and electrical controls
- Perform emergency repairs and system adjustments when needed
- Read and work from blueprints, drawings, equipment manuals and specifications
- Assist with system testing, balancing, installation and modifications
- Coordinate with plumbers, electricians and other skilled trades throughout the facility
What We're Looking For
We'd like to speak with candidates who have strong hands-on commercial, industrial or institutional HVAC experience and one of the following backgrounds:
- Journeyman-level plumber or pipefitter with documented HVAC training, or
- At least 4 years of building trades, maintenance or industrial repair experience plus completion of an approved Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration program
You'll also need:
- Strong HVAC and refrigeration troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of warm-air and hydronic heating systems
- EPA-approved refrigeration handling certification
- Ability to read blueprints and technical documentation
- A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
A current Warm Air or Hydronics Heating License is a plus. If you don't already have one, you'll have up to two years after hire to obtain it.
