Job Title: Senior POS QA Tester / QA Lead (long term contract - possible contract-to-hire)
On-site 4 days/week
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Tester with deep POS (Point of Sale) experience to support a complex, enterprise-scale technology environment. This role goes beyond traditional testing—serving as a QA Lead / Project Lead, responsible for driving testing strategy, improving processes, and collaborating across technical teams.
The ideal candidate is a tester by trade with strong hands-on experience in POS systems, combined with technical fluency in modern platforms and tools, including Kubernetes-based environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end testing efforts for POS systems, ensuring high-quality releases across environments
- Design, implement, and improve QA processes, standards, and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, DevOps) to support release cycles and deployments
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and QA documentation
- Execute manual and automated testing for POS applications and integrations
- Utilize tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Zephyr for test management and tracking
- Support testing efforts within containerized/Kubernetes-based environments
- Participate in defect tracking, triage, and resolution workflows
- Act as a QA leader, helping guide testing strategy and influence quality across teams
- Drive continuous improvement of QA practices and release quality
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance / Software Testing
- Strong background in POS (Point of Sale) testing (retail, restaurant, or similar environments preferred)
- Proven experience working with:
- Jira & Confluence
- Zephyr (or similar test management tools)
- Solid understanding of SDLC and release management processes
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Demonstrated ability to build QA processes and documentation from the ground up
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Technical Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Kubernetes environments (understanding deployments, environments, and basic troubleshooting)
- Experience testing across modern platforms, including Edge-based systems
- Exposure to API and integration testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Playwright or similar modern test automation tools
- Previous experience in a QA Lead or Project Lead capacity
- Experience supporting high-volume, customer-facing systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows
