Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, and repair electrical wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and panels in residential settings.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately execute projects.
- Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot complex electrical systems efficiently.
- Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and safety procedures.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely to complete installations and repairs with precision.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, and team members to coordinate project timelines and ensure quality workmanship during construction or renovation projects.
Skills
- Proven experience as a residential electrician
- Strong understanding of electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting techniques, and system repairs.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings accurately.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 compliance standards, NEC regulations, and local electrical codes.
- Experience working on low voltage systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and high-voltage wiring when necessary.
- Skilled in using testing equipment such as ohmmeters and multimeters for diagnosing issues.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment at all times.
- Construction site experience including renovation projects and general handyman skills is a plus.
