Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Tool Die Maker - III to join our manufacturing team. This role involves designing, fabricating, and maintaining precision tooling used in various manufacturing processes, including plastics injection molding, stamping, and machining. The ideal candidate will possess advanced mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CAD/CAM software, and expertise in CNC programming and operation. This position offers an opportunity to work on complex projects that require meticulous attention to detail and a strong understanding of manufacturing principles.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop detailed tool designs using CAD software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD, ensuring compliance with GD&T standards.
- Program and operate CNC machines including CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, and CAM programming to produce high-precision tooling components.
- Fabricate tooling parts through machining, welding, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and fabrication techniques.
- Perform assembly of tooling components with hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Interpret schematics, technical drawings, and schematics to ensure accurate fabrication and assembly of tools.
- Conduct inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances meet specifications.
- Maintain detailed documentation of tooling processes, schematics, and modifications for quality control purposes.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues in manufacturing processes and implement improvements for efficiency and durability.
- Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and maintains a clean work environment.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tool Die Maker or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of machining operations including CNC programming (CAM), CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, stamping press, and electrical discharge machining (EDM).
- Strong background in mechanical design, fabrication, tooling development, and assembly.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and related tools for designing complex tooling components.
- Skilled in reading schematics, technical drawings, and utilizing precision measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, and other gauges.
- Experience working with plastics injection molding tools is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret GD&T specifications accurately for high-quality production standards.
- Knowledge of welding techniques relevant to tooling fabrication is preferred. This position requires a dedicated professional capable of managing complex tooling projects from concept through production while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
