Role Summary
This is a high-level, full-time role for a Lead Systems Technician who can take ownership of projects from pre-wire through final delivery.
You will lead installs, program systems, solve problems in the field, and help develop junior technicians. This role is critical to allowing ownership to step out of day-to-day field execution and focus on growth.
Core Responsibilities
• Lead projects from start to finish (pre-wire, trim, final)
• Program and configure systems (Control4, networking, AV, security, lighting/shades, commercial systems such as SAVI or similar)
• Execute engineered plans and adapt intelligently based on real-world site conditions
• Build clean, professional racks and infrastructure
• Install and configure networks (routers, switches, WAPs)
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues independently without constant escalation
• Train and mentor junior technicians
• Communicate clearly with clients, builders, and internal team
• Maintain jobsite cleanliness and professionalism at all times
• Document work, changes, and issues using company systems (iPoint, Microsoft Teams)
How We Execute Projects
Our process follows a structured workflow from engineering through final delivery:
• Pre-wire – infrastructure and rough-in
• Trim – device install, terminations, rack build
• Final – programming, network setup, system delivery
Each phase must be completed to a high standard before moving forward, with clear communication throughout.
Technology Experience Preferred
• Control & Automation: Control4, Josh.ai
• Networking: Ubiquiti / UniFi
• Lighting & Shades: Lutron
• AV / Theater: Sony, Sonos, Kaleidescape, AVPro Edge
• Security & Access: Alarm.com, Qolsys, DSC, DoorBird
• Commercial Systems: SAVI or similar platforms
• Tools: Microsoft 365, Teams, iPoint
Strong fundamentals and the ability to learn quickly are essential.

Field Resources Support
• Company vehicle may be provided based on role and experience; otherwise mileage reimbursement applies

Requirements
• 5 years AV / low-voltage experience
• Strong programming and troubleshooting ability
• Solid networking knowledge
• Ability to run projects independently and make decisions in the field
• Experience in high-end residential or commercial environments
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift and handle equipment safely
Preferred Qualifications
• Control4 certification
• Lutron / lighting experience
• Commercial system experience (SAVI or similar)
• Electrical experience
• Leadership/mentorship experience
Compensation Benefits
• Salary: $70,000 – $100,000 (DOE)
• This position may be classified as exempt or non-exempt depending on experience and role alignment
