Our client is hiring a hands-on Irrigation Manager to lead irrigation operations across their commercial maintenance accounts in Brevard, Orange, and Indian River Counties. This role combine leadership, scheduling, communication, problem-solving, and field work — including diagnostics, wet checks, repairs, and audits.
This is a working manager role for someone who thrives outdoors, takes ownership of results, and leads by example.
Responsibilities
Field Operations
- Perform and oversee all irrigation service, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Diagnose electrical and hydraulic issues (valves, pumps, timers, rotors, wiring)
- Conduct system audits and zone testing; adjust for water efficiency
- Maintain quality, safety, and professional job execution
- Document work thoroughly with photos, notes, and material usage
Leadership
- Train and mentor irrigation techs and helpers
- Work alongside the team performing wet checks and repairs
- Provide feedback, strengthen skills, and build team morale
- Maintain a safe, positive, and accountable work environment
Scheduling & Workflow
- Build and manage daily/weekly irrigation schedules
- Coordinate with Account Managers and the Production Manager
- Track progress on open service calls and preventive maintenance
- Ensure timely completion of all service requests
Billing & Administration
- Review work orders for accurate labor, materials, and notes
- Submit irrigation billing weekly
- Assist with tracking expenses and department budget
- Identify upsell opportunities (controllers, drip conversions, upgrades)
Customer Communication
- Serve as the main contact for irrigation issues and follow-ups
- Communicate findings, recommendations, and timelines clearly
- Build trust through professionalism and responsiveness
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of irrigation experience (commercial preferred)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Proficiency with electrical/hydraulic troubleshooting
- Experience with Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro systems
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Backflow, FNGLA, IA, or GI-BMP certifications a plus
Physical Requirements
- Work outdoors in Florida heat
- Lift up to 50 lbs; frequent bending/kneeling/digging
- Operate irrigation tools and equipment safely
